Van Lee Fitness

I have been taking Muay Thai classes since March 2016, which means I have been training for close to 1.5 years already.

I have no idea what Muay Thai was before that, and my first time hearing about it was in December 2015 during my first photo shoot when one of the photographers mentioned about it.

One of the days in March 2016, I was jogging when the word suddenly came into my mind once again. I eventually went to search more about it on Google.

I managed to find a few gyms in Singapore teaching Muay Thai classes, but I was uncomfortable with the fact that I have to train with guys and trained by Guy trainers.

Finally, I chanced upon Van Lee Fitness.

I contacted Vanessa Lee and arranged for a trial class, on 15th March 2016.

My first lesson was pretty challenging. I felt nauseous & have to take a short break in between.

I was not a fit person, I do not make it a habit to take time off & exercise.
Ever since I joined Van Lee Fitness, I get stronger physically.

I started off not being able to even do a knee push up properly, but now I can do as many as 25 reps non-stop & even tried out the proper push ups on toes.

I remember not being able to do a proper kick, & will always injure my toe nail.
It took me a few months to finally get it, & now I can do as many as 50 speed kicks at one go!

The post-workout cramps I get after every lesson just makes me feels so good.
I always look forward to heading to class to relieve stress & to feel stronger afterwards!

My trainers always encourage me to finish the set, they believed in me when I couldn't.
'Harder, Faster, 1 more minute left!'
There's so much positive vibes around during the class.
'Not a single one drops!'
Everyone motivates each other especially during group workout.
We countdown together, we persevere till the end of the set.

I had a few encounters where Van Lee is the one holding the pads for me, & she encourages me to complete the set by constantly chanting, 'Last 10, Higher, Faster!'
It really encourages me to finish strong, to make every rep counts.

I started attending Van Lee Fitness on my own.

In order to ensure that we mix around with others in the class, the trainers will always make it a routine for us to change partners, to know the other members in the gym.

As I am one of the youngest members in the gym, I felt really awkward to talk to the rest but look!
I have made so many friends by now!

VLF is like my second home, I really enjoyed heading there every week.
The other members in the gym really inspired me to train even harder.
If they can make time to train after one whole day of work, to continue training even after having kids, why can't I?

Despite the age gap, I find that it is very easy to talk to the other members in the gym.
I feel very relieved when I'm being paired with someone older, as they act as an role model for me, to learn from them, to be full of energy.

Everyone comes from different walks of life, but we are one big family in Van Lee Fitness.

Van Lee Fitness is the first and the only all-women Muay Thai Fitness gym in Singapore, located at 63/63A Neil Road.

Varying from Muay Thai classes to Hot Body Conditioning classes, they even cater to personal training too!

Van Lee was the first female Muay Thai trainer in Singapore.
She has also trained the Singapore Police Force and Singapore Armed Forces before!

For those who would like to check them out, the gym is 5 minutes walk from Outram Park MRT (Purple Line Exit) & you can easily spot the gym.

colourpop / graciouslysg

I personally love matte lipstick as it is long lasting and it gives off the natural look as compared to other types of lipsticks.

This is my first time promoting a lipstick & I have chosen their Colourpop Ultra Matte Lipstick in shade 'Sunday'.

Love how natural it looks on my lips and how I don't have to keep reapplying as it can stay for up to 5 hours!

I applied the lipstick to work (that's why 5 hours la) but yes

the reflection though...........

Please don't mind my brows hahahaha I haven't got the time to trim them. :-(

Thank you @graciously_sg for the lipstick!

& their lovely owner, glwa_

Hi all!

@shopxballoons has recently sent this lovely suede bodysuit over & I love it so much!

It is the first bodysuit I have owned & I love how stretchable it is & how it can be easily matched with various outfits.

6 colours for you to choose from

I paired the bodysuit with my all-time-favourite black ripped pants & denim jacket.

Best for casual dates, & definitely suitable for Singapore's weather.

I tried pairing it with ripped jeans,
but it does not turn out as nice as what I expected it to be....

(stay tune I may update this blogpost with other looks real soon hehe)

You can simply order through their Order Form (Just simply click on it!)

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone.

This year, things are so different from the other years.

I'm not alone for Valentine's!

yay submitted L&L assignment today :-)

kassna or nakass or brysandra or kassana
lol HAHA.

Thanks Grace for shooting this & editing it hehe.

Ended school @ 3 pm & supposed to meet Gab @ Outram Park around 3.45pm.

Who knows my iPhone cable died on me when I just got up the train @ Bedok & was not contactable throughout the entire train journey.

Gab was pretty pissed since he tried calling me a few times but my phone was down. & I reached only around 4.30pm.
( I'm sorry boo :( )

I got Gab a hoodie that he always wanted from Cotton on.
Besides that, I got these for him hehe.

Nothing much since I was extremely busy clearing all my assignments for the past week & I only started planning the gifts the night before Valentine's Day.

I used felt to cut out the heart shape but I guess I ruined it badly.
I wrote some notes on the back of the box but it's not shown in the picture.

Okay back to the story,
So Gab was standing on the platform, wearing a white collar tee & his usual backcombed hair, carrying a Starbucks paper bag & a plastic bag.

Went up to him & OMG
It's a bouquet of flowers!!!!!

It's so pretty & & it's my first time receiving a bouquet of flowers from somebody.
So blessed :')

Took MRT over to our usual spot, Clarke Quay Starbucks & it's so crowded :(

Thank God we found seats.

Thanks for the flowers :(

He burst out laughing when he realized his unglams are printed on the card.

Thank you for always putting in efforts in this relationship.
You never fail to brighten my day.

Took this from Gab's instastory.
Sounds hilarious but that was really my first reaction, HAHA I mean flowers are expensive why get real flowers when you can get fake ones at a way cheaper price right.

And he printed a customized photo book for me!!!!!

Our day was spent pretty much in Starbucks as his exams are coming up.

In the evening, we left our things in Starbucks & went out.

He laughed at me just because I brought my flowers out for photo taking.
I mean, who wouldn't??????

I wouldn't want someone to take the flowers away :(

I previously brought a love lock for him as his birthday present.

And finally, we're locking it today!!!!!!!

Thank you for climbing up & locking it at the top just because I wanted it :(

Yay :')

We asked some caucasian to take pictures for us...

That awkward kiss though but yay hehe.

OH OH before I forget,
We threw the keys into the river!!!!!!

yay another bucket list down :-)

As usual, we went to Clarke Quay's basement for dinner.

Asked him to take a picture of me with the bouquet of flowers since the lighting is pretty good.

Look how the picture turns out to be......

& of course, I asked him to retake the picture...

After dinner, we went back to Starbucks & accompanied him while he studied until 10 pm before sending me back.

It is my first time celebrating Valentine's Day with someone special, & I'm so thankful for everything.

I don't require expensive gifts or even flowers (tbh I didn't even expect him to give me anything)
All I require is a simple day out with my other half.

Thank you so much for spending time doing the gifts despite having exams & making time for me when you have exams to study.

'Even though I am having exams, I will still make time for you.'

I still remembered the first time I met him on 24th July @ Punggol MRT tap out area.
Camo top, black ripped jeans, striped Adidas high cuts & backcombed hair.

I've never expected him to be part of my life at all.
5 months has passed & I am amazed by how far we came.

1st Valentine's Day together, & definitely not the last.

Hope you guys enjoyed your Valentine's Day too.

Lots of Love,
Bryana Huang
